At Premier Physical Therapy in New York City, we are proud to offer a comprehensive hand rehabilitation program which is customized to fit each patient’s needs. We provide attentive care by Certified Hand Therapists (CHT’s) who have met the stringent training, experience, and examination requirements for the distinguished CHT credentials. Our Certified Hand Therapists are highly qualified to treat injuries and conditions of the arm, hand, wrist, and fingers.
A Certified Hand Therapist is an occupational therapist or physical therapist who has at least five years of clinical experience which includes 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy. In addition to this experience required, each Certified Hand Therapist must pass a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in hand & upper quarter rehabilitation.
At each of our Hand Therapy Centers, our full-time Certified Hand Therapists (CHT’s) specialize in:
- Fabrication of all types of custom finger, hand, and wrist/ forearm splints
- Evaluation & treatment of surgical & non-surgical hand therapy conditions/ injuries
